Application procedure
  1. Make sure you are qualified to apply as an international student. Applicants seeking degree program admissions must meet the legal qualification standard as stated in the latest “Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan” released by the Ministry of Education (MOE):http://english.moe.gov.tw/content.asp?CuItem=7996&mp=1
  2. Check whether the department/institute for which you intend to apply accept international students.
  3. Fill out the application form online, submit the information and print out all required forms.
  4. Check whether you need to submit additional documents for the department/institute to which you intend to apply.
  5. Prepare all required documents accordingly and confirm all required signatures.
  6. Plan your schedule to allow enough time for your package to arrive at the Office of International Affairs (OIA) by the specified deadline either by hand delivery or post. Late submission and incomplete application packages will not be processed.
Requirements
Applicants may apply for up to 3 programs. A complete set of application documents should be prepared for each program applied.

  4. One photocopy of official diploma
  5. Translation of official diploma
  6. One copy of official transcript
  7. Two letters of recommendation
  8. One photocopy of passport
  9. Confidential Financial Statement
    Medical report (with HIV/AIDS screening result)
  10. One photo copy of the proof of English proficiency (The minimum requirements (or equivalent) are TOEFL PBT 500 / CBT 173 / iBT 73, TOEIC 650 or IELTS 5.5 unless specified otherwise by some department/institutes.)
  11. Proof of Chinese proficiency
  12. Proof of work experiences (if applicable)
  13. Proof of renouncement of nationality of the Republic of China (if applicable)
Scholarships
  • NCTU Scholarships: up to NT$15,000 (US$500; approx. US$1=NT$30) per month and/or Tuition Waiver/Deduction. The scholarships are awarded to outstanding international students with excellent academic and research records and are subject to review every semester/year based on merit.
  • Taiwan Scholarships (offered by the Government): up to NT$30,000 (US$1,000) per month. To apply, contact the Taiwan Embassies or Representative Offices in or near your country.
  • Scholarships in Collaboration with research centers and institutions: Amount varies.
